Team 7476

Earl of March FIRST Robotics Team

Who are we?

We are a group of 40-45 students at Earl of March Secondary School ranging from grades 9-12 specialising in a wide range of subjects from sciences, to business, to tech, all excited at the prospect of competing a robot.

We divide ourselves into 4 team; Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Admin allowing us to effectively cover all parts of building a robot and organising a team.

Some of us will be returning to the team in the 2019/20 school year but the majority of us will be new members.

18/19 Rookie Year

The 2018/19 school year was Earl of March's first year competing in the FIRST robotics competition. We managed to build a great robot in our dedicated 6 weeks, and competed in 3 competitions, making it as far as the regionals competition.

We won the Entrepreneurship award in the Ryerson competition, the Rookie All-star and highest rookie seed in North bay, and Rookie Inspiration at the Ontario Provincials.

FIRST Robotics

The FIRST robotics competition is an annual international competition for high school students. We are given specifications for a robot and a short window of time in which to design, build and test it. The robot then competes against other teams at competitions, where points are awarded for completing tasks and outperforming opponents.

Awards are also distributed for robot design, teamwork, creativity, passion, and many more.

The robots design specifications change each year, providing new design, construction and piloting challenges.

Support and Sponsorship

We have a team of enthusiastic students ready to design, build and compete our robot.

We have teachers and mentors ready to help us in any way possible

But building a robot, and travelling to competitions is expensive, and would be impossible without the help of our amazing sponsors.

If you would like to help our team this year and be part of our success, we would love to hear from you.
